The SPHERE Group, the European leader in household packaging supported by Hivest Capital Partners, announces the acquisition of all the shares of the French group Polyex, a specialist in the extrusion and conversion of polyethylene films (sleeves, covers, bags and packaging products) primarily serving industrial customers.
A family-owned business founded in 1991 and based in Lunéville (north-eastern France), Polyex generated revenue of €15 million in 2025, employs 45 people and has an annual production capacity of 10,000 tonnes. Its state-of-the-art industrial platform – 8 extrusion lines, 8 cutting/sealing lines and 7 in-line printing units – enables it to serve a wide range of sectors with great responsiveness: construction, automotive, agri-food, retail, logistics and services. Holder of the EcoVadis Gold Medal, the European MORE label and the RecyClass certification, Polyex ranks among the most committed players in its sector in terms of environmental, social and ethical performance.
This transaction enables SPHERE, already present in the industrial film market in the United Kingdom through its subsidiary Alfaplas, to strengthen and diversify its positions in a European market with strong growth potential, beyond its historical consumer, professional and local authority markets.
Following the acquisition of Romagnasac in Italy at the end of 2024, PlasticBag in Spain at the end of 2025, Polyex is the third add-on acquisition completed by the SPHERE Group since Hivest Capital Partners’ investment in December 2024. It illustrates the buy-and-build momentum Hivest intends to support in order to help SPHERE consolidate its European leadership and diversify its activities.
“The acquisition of Polyex perfectly illustrates the value-creation strategy we are pursuing alongside the SPHERE Group: accelerating the Group’s diversification into attractive industrial markets by joining forces with first-rate companies with recognised expertise and a strong CSR commitment. We warmly welcome the Polyex teams.” – Alexandre Levavasseur, Hivest Capital Partners
